Why is FSC or PEFC certification important?

Forests cover about 30% of the world’s land area, but they are disappearing at an alarming rate. Forest certification bodies recognise that forests are vital to life; their purpose is to ensure forests are managed sustainably. The FSC and PEFCS are two of the most well-known forest certification bodies. If a label is FSC or PEFC certified, consumers know that the material has come from a sustainably managed forest. Today, consumers are increasingly environmentally conscious, so promoting FSC or PEFC certification on your labels could help your products stand out on the shelf and enhance your brand’s green credentials.

PEFC Certification

PEFC certification empowers consumers and companies to choose sustainable products. All PEFC certified products have been closely monitored through independent auditing at every stage of the supply chain to ensure that unsustainable sources are excluded.

PEFC certified products can be identified by the PEFC logo. By displaying this logo, buyers of raw materials or final products can be assured that every forest, manufacturer, or processor in the supply chain has been PEFC certified.
