Which platform scale is best for my application?

Our platform scales are designed to perform well in a range of challenging environments. From busy factories to fast-paced retail environments and sterile medical laboratories, our industrial platform scales are suitable for a wide range of applications. What is a platform scale?

A platform scale is an industrial floor scale with a platform, or platform base, used for weighing large objects and bulk material. Platform scales are commonly found in warehouses and other industrial sites for the purpose of accurately measuring large, heavy or bulky materials. 

Most platform scales feature a digital display or indicator to instantly show the weight of the item being weighed. However, we also offer a mechanical floor scale for businesses that require intrinsically safe weighing. Many platform scales also include additional features such as adjustable feet, tilt sensing, sealed IP rated indicators, stainless steel construction, and more. These specialised features enable platform scales to be used for weighing applications in a variety of  industries, including food processing, manufacturing, logistics and shipping.

How accurate are platform scales?

Our most accurate platform scales have a maximum capacity of 300 kg and weighs by a graduation interval of 1g. Generally, as the capacity of the scale increases, so does the graduation interval. 

All Wedderburn platform scales are designed for reliability, accuracy and repeatability, however it’s important to note that the accuracy of a platform scale can be affected by external factors such as temperature, humidity, and vibrations.
